It is with profound sadness and hearts filled with grief that Blair, Elsa, and Beau share the devastating news of the passing of their beautiful and precious daughter and adored sister, Etta May Waldin, on Saturday, 6 June 2026.
Etta was a treasured and much-loved member of her family, whose warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was the cherished granddaughter of Nana Brooking, Grandad Brooking, Grandma, Nana Marcia, the late Grandad David, and Grandbob. Her presence brought joy to family gatherings, and she held a special place in the hearts of each of her grandparents.
A beloved niece, devoted cousin, and loyal friend, Etta built meaningful connections wherever she went. Her caring nature, generous heart, and genuine compassion left lasting impressions on countless lives. Whether through a thoughtful gesture, a comforting word, or simply her bright smile, she had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued and loved.
Etta’s love extended beyond people to her treasured furbabies, Meggy, Hoppy, Toffee, George, Marlo, and Nelly, who brought her endless happiness and companionship. Her nurturing spirit and affection for animals reflected the kindness that defined her character.
Although her life was far too short, Etta filled her years with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Her family is deeply grateful for the precious time they shared with her and will forever hold those moments close to their hearts. While the pain of her loss is immeasurable, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain a lasting source of comfort and strength.
A service to celebrate Etta’s life will be held at Crestwood, 615 Heretaunga Street East, Hastings, on Friday, 12 June, at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and join in honouring and remembering a truly special young woman.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
